The Waite family have long been associated with Thornton and its surrounding area. There are still descendants in the village at Cowgill Farm "The Masons"

Richard Bell

Thomas Bell was the first Bell in Bells farm. The farm house is situated in the middle of the village and looks onto the main A56.
